Metal AM process qualification and in-situ monitoring for aerospace applications
Srinivasan Raghavan is a Scientist at the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), part of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), where he leads research on metal AM process development and qualification for the aerospace and defence sectors. His work has focused on establishing process qualification frameworks for LPBF of IN718 and Ti-6Al-4V aligned with AS9100 and NADCAP requirements, and on integrating in-situ thermal monitoring with post-build computed tomography to reduce qualification sample size through statistical equivalence testing. Raghavan has collaborated with ST Engineering, Rolls-Royce Singapore, and the Singapore Economic Development Board on national AM adoption programmes. He began publishing in AM around 2014 and has contributed to SIMTech's position as a regional hub for AM qualification and technology transfer to Singapore's aerospace manufacturing cluster.
